Hello, I have also been hard at work on the Mitchell line. I have trace Henry who died in Sumner 1819 back to Halifax County, Virginia. I am convinced he is father of Henrietta Mitchell who married Whitfield Holloway in 1800 in Halifax Co. Henry was married to Nancy Carnal (CArnall, Cearnal) the d/o Patrick Carnal of Caswell County, North Carolina. Henry was witness to several deeds and in patrick's will he mentions his daughter Nancy Mitchell. I also found land deeds that state that Henry is selling land for his son, John Mitchell who is a resident of Sumner Co., TN. This is in 1807 and then Henry is selling land, the same year, and it states he is a resident of Sumner County, TN. I found marriage record for John Mitchell. His wife was Frances Scott, married 14 May 1800, bondsman is Henry Mitchell and John named one of his children Henry. Just wanted to update you on my research, thus far.
