This was all the further I could go in Sumner, TN for marriages that were transcribed online. As far as I can tell, Goldie was 15 yrs old in 1920, and still living at home, so if they still allowed minors to marry this young, it would be after this timeframe. Goldie doesn't come up as Goldie Perry again. There were other Robertson(s) with middle initials listed but either they were too young or too old to have been included within Goldie's circle. What branch of the WRAY family was Charlie/Charles Wray, please!!!!????? I have an interest in the Wray family who ventured into Missouri, came from Kentucky and invariably there must be some type of connection!! Hope this helped a little!! Unsure when the marriage occurred, Goldie was born 1/9/1905 and died in 1974. Family history is that Guy was not a nice guy. I have no information for him at all. Any assistance with this would be appreciated. Goldie was my Great Great Aunt and I have vague memories of her. Goldie's parents are Charlie Perry and Laura Jean Wray. She was one of three children that survived to adulthood. Her brother Luther was my great grandfather. Supposedly Emily Durham later Wray was his mother (according to a family member). I have been unable to find any connection. I do not believe that Emily could be his mother because he was born in 1905 and she would have been about 55 and married to George Fontana WRAY at that time. I have hypothesized that she could have possibly been his grandmother. My family source stated that the "marriage to Hughes took place in Arkansas". I can find no information showing that Emily Durham ever went to Arkansas. Family lore also states that Howard Hughes gave the city of Westmoreland the money to purchase the land that the town lake now occupies. He did not want to be identified as supplying the money and required secrecy and anonymity in the deal. He also supposedly lived in Westmoreland with George and Emily for a time before stealing George's "idea book" and running off with it. This was supposedly the foundation of his empire. The family was so upset with the betrayal that no one spoke of him and his relationship. I have heard that one of the girl's in George and Emily's family tore the page out of the family bible that included him and ate it when she was in a nursing home. I am curious to know if others in Westmoreland have heard stories of relationship to this extremely bizarre and wealthy individual. I know in the mid 70's after his death an attorney approached my grandmother and her siblings to join the lawsuit to inherit his money. We never did get any money and the case has been settled but I still want to know about the relationship.
