Since Tennessee did not become a state until 1796 the records for Sumner co could be some where else. Would anyone know where or if they might exist. Was the part of TN that became Old Sumner co ever a part of the state of Franklin if so do any of those records still exist. I have found some land records for Revolutionary war Bounty lands for certain people that served in the war are in the capitol of NC. Does anyone know if the malitia records might be there also.
