    3. Hi Linda, I was cleaning out my inbox and I think I left you hanging on some KEMPER questions. You asked if I had researched the Kempers: The info I have was given to me years ago by my grandmother, Lila Irene KEMPER MCWHIRTER. She was an avid genealogist back in the day when she had to travel all over the country to dig up bits of information. She was the niece of your William V. KEMPER. You asked if I'd researched the JONES side: No, I only have your Ida Ola JONES. I would like to know who Ida Ola's parents were if you have them. I would also like to have William and Ida's descendants, someday, if you have time. I don't know anything about a family reunion - I never heard my grandmother speak of it. I am getting in touch with a woman named Isabelle KEMPER in Goodlettsville to see how she is connected - she might know more about it. You asked about the Mason's. I am pretty sure my great-grandfather (William's brother) was a Mason. His name was Thomas Jefferson KEMPER. I ! know that his wife, Ezma Irene BRILEY KEMPER was in Eastern Star. I will start with George C. KEMPER and you can let me know how much farther you want me to go back. George C. KEMPER, son of William KEMPER and Sarah HITT was b. 10-29-1807 in Fauquier Co VA d. 7-8-1889 in Davidson Co TN. He married on 2-28-1829 in FauCo VA to Nancy HiITT who was b. 3-4-1807 Fauquier Co VA d. 8-4-1881 Davidson Co TN. Her parents were Reuben HITT and Fanny SAMUEL. George and Nancy moved to TN around 1833. George C. and Nancy HITT KEMPER's children were: 1. John J. KEMPER b. 3-7-1830 Fau.Co Va, d. 4-24-1909 Sumner Co TN. Married 1. bef. 1850 to Mary ? 2.on 3-5-1855 SCTN to Elizabeth H. LOWERY. This is our ancestor. My mother believes he is buried in a Kemper cemetery on Long Hollow Pike along with Jane MINTER (his mother-in-law) and his wife, Betty LOWERY. 2. George W. KEMPER b. Feb. 1832 Fau.CoVA, d. bef. Jan. 1920 in Nashville, Davidson Co TN. Married 12-2-1849 DavCoTN to Mary Louisa REYNOLDS/RUNNELS. She was b. 6-30-1825 VA d. 9-6-1923 Nashville DavCoTN. From his descendant, Wayne HOLMAN, I was told that he owned 4 acres where Goodlettsville High School now stands and the house he lived in became the school's first cafeteria. He probably has more information on this line, which I would also like to have. 3. Peter H. KEMPER b. 4-17-1834 Davidson Co TN d. 4--9-1914 Limestone Co TX. Married 1. on 12-8-1859 SCTN to Courtney A. WILLIAMS b. 1840-41 SCTN d. 1880-1883 Limestone Co TX, 2.on 2-14-1884 Hill Co TX to Anna W. PERRITT b. abt. March 1848 Louisiana. Peter is buried at Prairie Hill, Limestone Co, TX. 4.William A. KEMPER b. 2-12-1836 Dav.CoTN,d.4-6-1899 Dav.CoTN Married on 12-24-1867 DavCoTN to Delia Elizabeth SHAW. 5. Reuben B. KEMPER b. 1838 DavCoTN d. 1899 DavCoTN Married 12-27-1865 DavCoTN to Rebecca Ann JENKINS. He is buried at Spring Hill cemetery, DavCo TN. 6. Sarah F. KEMPER b. 1-11-1841 DavCoTN d. 11-4-1884 DavCoTN Married 7-24-1861 DavCoTN to William B. LOWERY. 7. Mary Ann KEMPER b. 11-11-1845 DavCoTN d. 9-4-1867 DavCoTN Married 8-2-1866 DavCoTN to Benjamin F. MYERS. 8. Thomas Jefferson KEMPER b. abt. 1850 DavCoTN d. 1918 DavCoTN Married 12-22-1870 DavCoTN to Martha Elizabeth SHAW. Next generation: John J. KEMPER and Elizabeth H. (Betty) LOWERY had 8 children: 1. Thomas Jefferson KEMPER b. 11-19-1872 SCTN d. 1-16-1956 Gallatin, SCTN Married 2-2-1910 Gallatin SCTN to Ezma Irene BRILEY. This is my line. Thomas Jefferson KEMPER was a carpenter. He and Ezma are buried in Gallatin Cemetery. He was 38 when he married for the first time and Ezma was only 16. 2. Nancy J. KEMPER (Nan or Nannie) b. 1-6-1855 TN d. 5-17-1946 TN Married 10-15-1894 SCTN to John Calhoun COX. She is buried at Dixon Springs cemetery. She was 39 when she married for the first time to John COX, and he was 67. They were only together 9 years before he died. 3. William V. KEMPER (Willie) b. 1859 SCTN d. June 1888 Married 4-22-1880 Robertson Co TN to Ida Ola JONES. They died young after having three children together, both in 1888 of TB. They are buried in Greenbriar, Robertson Co TN. The children were raised by the JONES'. 4.and 5. Eliza KEMPER and Alfred KEMPER b. and d. abt. 1870. 6. Margaret L. KEMPER b. Oct. 1864 TN. 7. Horace Anderson KEMPER b. 12-19-1867 TN d. 9-29-1949 Gallatin, SCTN Married 2--7-1894 SCTN to Annie Lucy WALKER. 8. Ida KEMPER b. 1861 TN Peter H. KEMPER and Courtney WILLIAMS had Peter John Morgan KEMPER who married Martha P. BILLINGTON. Researcher Donna KEMPER is a descendant of Peter and has more on this line, which I would also like to have. Next generation: Thomas Jefferson KEMPER b. 11-19-1872 SCTN d. 1-16-1956 Gallatin, SCTN married 2-2-1910 Gallatin, SCTN to Ezma Irene BRILEY. She was born 1-8-1894 in White House, SCTN and died 2-1-1980 in Indpls, IN. Her parents were Franklin Marion BRILEY and Minerva A. KEMP. Thomas and Ezma had 3 children: 1. Edward Carmac KEMPER b. 3-12-1911 SCTN d. 11-17-1984 Barnwell, SC. Married 10-11-1929 Franklin Co KY to Lila Lorene MEDLEY. 2. Lila Irene KEMPER b. 6-5-1915 SCTN Married 1. to John Edwin SETTLE on 11-30-1934 SCTN 2. to Carl Jackson MCWHIRTER. Lila is my grandmother, she was an avid genealogist - I have more information on these families if you need more information. 3. Thomas Jefferson KEMPER b. 8-2-1921 SCTN d. 1-6-1968 SCTN Married 10-10-1947 to Lucy Louise MAYNARD. He served in WWII and is buried in Gallatin cemetery. William V. KEMPER and Ida Ola JONES had three children: 1. John Russell KEMPER 2. Nannie Belle KEMPER 3.
