    2. The following information comes from HISTORY OF THE LAUDERDALES IN AMERICA by Clint A. Lauderdale, page 81-82.... 'David Lauderdale of Tipton Co., born ca 1784 married ca 1812 to Clarrissa Bledsoe, d/o Col. Isaac Bledsoe (b. 1735 in Orange Co., VA-d. 9 Apr 1793 in Sumner Co., TN).States that Isaac was killed and scalped by Indians while Clarissa was still a baby. Dad was a Lt in the 39th Infantry Regiment under Lt. Co. Thomas Hart Benton..... David's brother Samuel D. was deputy commander of the Infantry Brigads' 1st Regiment. David on tax lists of 1811, 1816, 1823 and the 1820 census of Sumner Co. with wife, son and 8 slaves. Moved to Tipton Co between 1824-1829 where he died in 1833. Clarissa died January 1840. They had three sons and several daughters....one was Rowena who died of consumption in 1850. Sons were Bledsoe (killed in Civil War), John and James.' page 59 'David is listed as son of James Lauderdale of Sumner Co who was born ca 1744 and married Sarah Mills (d/o John Mills) ca 1767 in Botetourt Co., Va. other children were JohnW., Sarah, Samuel D. James Jr., William and Josiah.' page 27 'James of Sumner died in 1811, Sarah in 1820 and are buried in the family cemetery in Trousdale Co., TN.' My line is through James of Sumner's sister Mary who married James Franklin. Toni Cain Moody
