Tn Queries Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tn/Sumner/11973 Surname: RIPPY, STONE, KEY, ROALIN, HAIR, DAY, MOODY, BLACK, JACKSON, JOHNSON ------------------------- Hi, I have an aunt who lives in Sumner Co, TN Bethpage and there is a private cemetary across the street from her that houses many of the Lauderdales. I will have to find my last Nov diary to find out the names, but there were lots. It is on Hwy 260 Browning Branch Road off of 31 going to Gallatin and Honey Suckle Rd or Lane going toward 141 Westmoreland, Green Grove TN. The best way to tell you where it is located for me is this: if you take Hwy 52 from WEstmoreland TN to 141 and turn Right and go until you come to a bridge on the Right after a little store like white building on the right, keep going until you see the road, it is a wide, paved road and it is or becomes Honey Suckle Lane and runs into 260, you can't miss that Road sign on the Right about 1/2 mile. There is a big hill across the road from where you turn Right with a red brick house and there is at the left Templelow Church. Take 260 around all the curves until you see the cemetary on the left and two trailers on the right. It is in a cow pasture and I think a guy named Grady owns it, but I just walk over there and visit it when at my aunt's house and they never say anything to me, but if they do to her, she tells them "she's Tommy's niece from Indpls", so they are always friendly whenever they are in the fields and I am roaming it. I sure would love to find someone who would see that this is taken care of for sometimes those cows are let into there and many stones are broken and in need of repair and the cemetary could use a good cleaning and the stones need to be registered with the Sumner Co Archives there in Gallatin! There is a law in TN that preserves these if a family member takes charge, but I don't have any Lauderdales to claim, so I am just a friendly by passer, who loves to hang out with the dead and look for Rippys and Keys and Roalins and Stones and Gregorys and all in Sumner Co, TN when visiting kin there. Now, if you are going from Westmoreland you can take 31 to 231 and turn left at the crossings of the two and there's a restaurant and stores on the right. You are heading toward Gallatin, south on 31E or 231E whichever, anyhow, you turn left and go about 3-4 miles and on the left is 260 and you turn left there and go about 1 mile or two and the Lauderdale graves are on the right hand side. To me it is easier to go this way to 260, Browning Branch Rd. Or if you stop at Westmoreland at Hardee's and see a mid-older aged person there, they can tell you where 260/Browning Branch Rd is from Westmoreland, TN. Happy Hunting and I will try and get back about who is buried there. I believe there are some other surnames, also. PARH
