He was born ca. 1818 in Tennessee. The wife he had when he lived in Lawrence County, KY was Ruth (Moorehead) McCormick, born in 1811 in what would become Monroe County, WV. Their children were: George Washington McCormick b. ca. 1844; William A. McCormick, b. ca. 1848; and Benedict Burns McCormick, b. 20 Nov 1851. Benedict B. McCormick is my gg-grandfather
