    3. Several years ago I contacted the administrators of the Sumner List about LEONARD B. BAIN who I knew was listed on the 1830 Sumner Co. Census. The reply stated that he was not listed in that particular census. I now have a copy of page 144 of the 1830 Sumner Co. Census which lists LEONARD B. BAIN ninth on the page. He (30-40) and his wife (20-30) had a son (under 5), a son (5-10), and 2 dau. (under 5). I could not locate LEONARD on an 1840 Census anywhere. The 1840 Sumner Co. Census for JOHN R. BAIN (my ancestor) includes 14 children five of whom I know were not his - 2 males (15-20) and 3 females (10-15). These may have been the children of LEONARD B. BAIN and wife. Does anyone have any information about the death of a young couple c1830 in Sumner Co.? Is there any court action assigning the custody of the children of LEONARD B. BAIN to JOHN R. BAIN? JOHN and LEONARD may have been brothers. Richard A. Bain
