The LDS files(always suspect)list Silas E Cummings (1830-1913) as the son of Thomas G Cummings and Edith (?). I know this is incorrect as he is the son of Malachi Cummings (1802-1842) and Edith Brookshire who came to Sumner Co about 1840 from Clark County Ky. My question is--Does anyone know who this Thomas G Cummings is and how he got connected to Malachi's family? Malachi Cummings died only a year and some months after arriving in Sumner co, and it appears that Edy Brookshire Cummings did not marry again as she always appears as head of household on the census records. Silas was their oldest son and 12 years old when his father died. Thanks anybody Mecca
