He was born 10/11/1859 and died 4/25/1923. The death records of Wilkinson and Wiseman in Portland Tn. list his father as Neely Brown born Tn. and his mother as Harriet Parham Brown born Tn. He and his wife, Amanda Hagan Brown are buried in Maple Hill cemetery in Portland, Tn. Their daughter was Mary Lee Brown Link married to Birch Taylor Link, whose daughter was Ivy Louise Link Craigge Kilgore. She was my husband's mother, who died in January 2007, and all were buried in Maple Hill. I'm new to all of this information. We realized that after Mrs. Ivy's dead that we needed to find information for our children. There is a diary of a lady whose last name is Link(go to the Sumner County Genealogy page and look under Link family). She mentions the Neely Brown's marriage. I really think that his parents came from Lebanon, Tn. I hope you find where they are buried. Maybe some of ! this will help you.
