I am interested in Hiram Mitchell who is listed on the 1820, 1830, and 1840 census of Sumner County TN. I have suspected for over a year that he could be my ancestor Hiram Mitchell who is listed on the 1850 census in Bibb County AL. My Hiram was born in TN (or possibly NC where his parents were born), around 1800. I am trying to collect all information I can on Hiram Mitchell of Sumner Co. in hopes that I can either rule him out or confirm that he is my Hiram. I am also interested in knowing the relationships between all of these people, the Mitchells, and those connected to them. If you have any information on these people, I would be very happy and grateful to receive it. I do have some specific questions you may be able to help with, especially: Have any of your Mitchells been tested in a DNA project? We are part of the Mitchell DNA Project which is tested through Family Tree DNA. It has so far, allowed us to rule out a couple of possibilities, but no tight connections as of yet.
