The two names, McDaniel & McDonald,are given in the same record. The record was lines in a book, so have found no actual certificate. Evidentaly, William Escue was in Rowan co, NC for a while, anyway. I found 2 deeds of him selling land 1805 & 1806 as follows: Abstracts of Deed Books 20-24 of Rowan Co, NC 1807-1818 by James W Kluttz 975.671 R28K V3 #631 p 36 19 Dec 1805, William Esgue to Jilson Berryman for $120, 30 A adj Jacob Smith and Hilton. Wit: James Peeler, Richard Johnson. Prvd by Peeler at Aug Ct 1807. #865 p 290 13 Oct 1806 William Escue to Charles Gordon for $160, 39 3/4 A adj Hilton and Smith. Wit: Benj Hinkle, John Wilson, Dunling Jones, Prvd by Hinkle at Aug Ct 1808. There is a Thomas Agnew & Cuthic his wife mentioned in Rowan Co, NC Loose Estate papers- Rowan Co Register, Vol 3 no 2 976.67 h2r-- possible parents???? There is a John McDonald listed in Rowan Co, NC abstracts of the Ct of pleas & Qtr Sessions 1753-1762-- July 23, 1762 John McDonald for 640 A (4:818.819) An administration report for the will of William Escue in Sumner Co, TN was dated Apr 16, 1839. There are ealier reports with no dates-- obviously, died before 1839, could be as early as 1836. The 1836-1837 date is thought to be a good estimate because Edmond Green Escue was B in Sumner Co, TN (we think- TN for sure) I believe they migrated to southern IL before 1840. Sorry to be so long.
