A life long resident of Sumner County and was retired from Ford Glass Plant after 30 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, Bunton and Myrtle Dorris. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Dorris; sons, Charles (Portia) Dorris and Jeff Dorris; daughter, Gay Dorris (Darrell) Doxtater; step son, Larry Salyer; step daughters, Pamela Helbert and Patti Sanders; brother, Henry Clayton Dorris; sister, Lorene Campbell; eighteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Services will be conducted 11 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2005 at Hendersonville Funeral Home Chapel with Duane Wray officiating. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers Members of UAW Union Local 737 and the Hendersonville VFW Post 9851. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park. Family request that memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
