Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Hume Fogg High School, and a lifelong resident of Nashville. Preceded in death by her husband, Irving Miller; parents, Thomas Benjamin McMurtry and Ammie Taylor McMurtry; brother, D. Calvin McMurtry; sisters, Ruth Cole, Elsie Ferguson, Alta McMurtry, Lota McMurtry, and Inez McMurtry Hooven. Survived by sister, Mrs. Alvin O. West (Reba); step-daughter, Jane Fabian; grandsons, Nick Fabian, Jr., and Michael M. Fabian. She is also survived by nieces, Lyndall Doxey, and Tracey Hudson; nephews, Nelson Blackburn and Tommy Ferguson; sister-in-law, Mrs. D. Calvin McMurtry; and devoted friend, L'Tanya Bell Jarboe. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday February 24, 2005 in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Acting as Honorary Pallbearers will be Nelson Blackburn, Bill Doxey, Latham Doxey, Jeff Hunt, Tommy Ferguson, Tony Hudson, Miller Davis, N.R (Bud) Davis, Mrs. Charles L. Cornelius, Mrs. Gwen Shipp, and members of the Vesta Sunday School Class of Belmont Heights Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist Hospital Foundation Nursing Scholarship Program, or charity of one's choice.
