He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth S. Dorris. Survived by his children, Gail Tidwell (Tony), Paul E. Dorris, and Larry M. Dorris (Libby), Danbury, CT; sister, Betty D. Davis; grandchildren, Jason Dorris, Leigh Dorris, Bradley Dorris, Clay Tidwell, and Shawn Tidwell; great-grandchildren, Greg and Connor Tidwell. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. at The First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville with Rev. Ben Alexander officiating. Visitation with the family one hour prior to service time at the church. His ashes will be returned to rest beside his wife Ruth at Spring Hill Cemetery.
