TN d: Bef. 1870 >> Isaac Bledsoe Taylor was apparently the eldest son of John M. Taylor and Rachel West of Sumner County. He was living with his family in Monroe County, Kentucky in 1850. His grandparents were Thomas and Mildred (Markham) Taylor and Andrew and Tryphena (Mead) West. The Taylors came to Sumner County from Cumberland County, Virginia. The Wests were in Jones County, North Carolina. I had formerly assumed that Bledsoe Taylor, the eldest son of John M. Taylor, had probably died young since he did not sign an 1856 deed in Sumner County, as an heir of his brother, David Durham Taylor. However, recently upon inquiry by another descendant of Isaac Bledsoe Taylor, I found good circumstantial evidence that Isaac B. Taylor was a son of John M. Taylor, and therefore was apparently identical with Bledsoe Taylor. The names of his children include several somewhat unusual ones that were in John M. Taylor and Rachel West's family. Among them Rachel, Hepsey and Clarinda.
