Margaret (known as "Peggy") was a daughter of Revolutionary War soldier James Minnis, who died in Orange County, North Carolina in 1836. One of his grandsons, James M. Minnis, lived in Sumner County for a time after the Civil War, and participated with his cousins (mostly Hunters by this time) in founding Mount Vernon Methodist Church. James M.
