Rose,      Robert Looney and brother came over from Isle of Man off of the coast of England.  Robert and wife Elizabeth (Llewelyn) came to Augusta Co. VA and the Looneys made quite a bit of History there and then went on to Sullivan Co., TN (next to Hawkins Co.)  Many of these Came to Sumner Co., TN.  Robert's son Col. David Looney of Sullivan had daughter that married and went to Sumner, one being Julia Annis Looney that married Hugh Crawford.  Their daughter Jannett married John Cotton and in turn their daughter Aceneth Cotton married my William 'Maj' Rice, Jr. I have some good resources for the Looneys and I E-mail it to you.
