When I first came up with Meredith in my ancestry, I looked through lots of early Tennessee census records and Andrew just seemed the most likely family for Meredith to fit into. Also there is the Stewart/McCormick marriage records which make it seem like this might have been an earlier marriage for Meredith. So I've done lots of digging into Andrew's records, and also looked for stuff on the Stewart family. Like you, I think it's likely that Andrew is Meredith's father. I just haven't found the final really convincing piece of evidence yet. Glen
