There has been much miss-information published about which Allen Cotton was father of Obadiah (he later changed his name to Overton) Cotton. A reference taken from the book "Cotton Picking" by Peggy Gregory, page 421 states that a Mrs. H. B. Halliburton of Franklin, TN. had a Bible Record of the Children of Allen Cotton (16 in number) & Dr. Overton Cotton was not among them. This Allen Cotton was the son of Capt. Thomas Cotton & Priscilla Knight. This Allen shows on the census reports of Davidson Co. TN in 1830, 1840 & through 1860. While Dr. Overton Cotton & his father Allen show as neighbors in 1830 census of Tuscaloosa Co. Ala. While Overton Cotton & his widowed Mother Mary show in Winston Co.MS. in the 1840 census. I was inquiring whether any one has knowledge as to where a copy of this Bible record might be obtained? Has one been published?
