Hi Tim, Yes, I have Charles Sidney Brown's book. And he has been a great help to me. I saw him at the Brown family reunion about a month ago, and he has given permission for me to quote many parts of the book. Charles knows that my goal has been to update and broaden the research on the Brown family line. I have traced about 12,000 direct descendants of Leonard and Sarah Kimbrough Brown to date. And, with lots of folks help, we've found the whereabouts of all of Leonard's children. Elizabeth moved from Caswell Co to Warren Co, KY to Fayette Co, IL. Susanna followed the same pathway, except Wayne County, IL is in the migration path. Sarah Askey/Eskew came to Sumner County. Thomas stayed in Caswell. But his children migrated to Carroll Co, TN. William came to Sumner and died in 1809. His granddaughter migrated to Indiana. Solomon & Robert settle near each other in Sumner. Leonard Jr. went to Giles Co. The Jacob Brown who married Dovey Foster was the son of Solomon Brown and Hannah Cantrell Brown. He remained in Sumner County. He is included in the estate records of Solomon Brown. Robert Brown also had a son named Jacob Brown, who married Anna Tatum first. She died, then he married Nancy Miller in 1830 in Wilson County, TN. Shortly afterward, they moved to Illinois then Iowa. He had children by both wives. I have been in touch with several of his descendants (from both wives). Charles Sidney has been in touch with them as well. It took a while to uncover the two Jacobs. Solomon's Jacob is referred to as Jacob Sr. in the tax lists. He was aborn about 1791. Robert's Jacob is Jacob Jr. in the tax lists. He was born about 1797. Also, Lydia Harris was probably not the wife of our Robert Brown. No one wants to hear this because it has been accepted as fact for so long. But, the Robert Brown who married Lydia Harris was the son of John E. Brown of Caswell County. I have been e-mailing one of his descendants, who is named Tyree Harris Brown. The name has been passed through the family for two hundred years. The Robert Brown who married Lydia Harris (daughter of Tyree Harris) stayed in Caswell County and died there. We have not yet determined the name of the first wife of Robert Brown, but we have some ideas. I have very happy to share Brown info and updates with you. And to compare notes, if you are interested! Thanks again! Danene
