The list of Sumner County Revolutionary Soldiers should contain Thomas Cotton who fought as a Captain in a Company of foot in the 5th North Carolina Infantry and possibly the 16th Virginia Infantry Regiment. His land grant was in Stone Creek the area of modern day Cottontown which he founded. I have his Pension Papers! Raleigh Sutton
