We do have some differences so I am going to post what we did. Will of James Gilliam, ca.1750-1821 Sumner County, Tennessee Microfilm Sumner County Tennessee Archives Written 11 February 1821 In the name of God-I James Gilliam of the County of Sumner & State of Tennessee do make this my last will & Testament. Of the property which it hath pleased God to bless me with, I do make the following distribution amongst my dear wife Frances & my Children. I have given to my Children as follows to my son John H. Gilliam[,] Louisa[,] Milleys daughter[,] to my son James Gilliam[,] Susannah Dapneys youngest daughter[,] to my daughter Sarah Hawkins[,] Dapney[,] Biddys daughter, to my daughter Polly Webb[,] Polly[,] Milleys daughter, to my daughter Martha Harris[,] Mariah[,] Biddy[']s daughter, to my son Charles H Gilliam[,] Sam[,] Janeys son, to my son Taylor G. Gilliam[,] Henry[,] Janey's son, to my daughter Nancy H Gilliam[,] Biddy[,] Biddy[']s daughter, to my son Stephen R Gilliam[,] Sukey[,] Janeys daughter, to my Daughter Susannah Woodson[']s two sons[,] James & Richard Woodson[,] Abraham[,] Biddys son, to my daughter Frances Patterson[']s Children[,] Betsey[,] Biddys daughter. The above mentioned Abraham & Betsey my wife is to keep during her life. The above mentioned negroes to Said Children I give to them and the lawful heirs of their body forever. In the following manner ( ) It is my will and desire not mentioning particulars for my dear wife Frances to have & e! njoy the whole of my property that remains without any interruption whatever during her natural life & at her death to be equally divided between my children afore mentioned to be for them and the lawful heirs of their body forever. ____ that Susannah Woodsons Children is to have a childs part divided between them & likewise Frances Pattersons Children a Childs part divided between them. I do constitute & appoint my Frances Executrix & my son Charles H. Gilliam Executor to this my will. In testimony whereof I James Gilliam have here to set my hand and seal this 11 day of February 1821. You and Lona agree on the name John M Rice but I don't. The last name looks like Rice to me when you compare the first letter in that last name with the first letter in the last name of William Rush.
