Hi everybody, I am also a member of a few email list in Colorado, and the administrators of those lists have determined that the "I found recipes" email is spam and that they are phising for email addresses. Usually, rootsweb removes the posts, but I have received them from almost all of the lists that I am a member of. Just thought I would pass this on so that maybe it will save someone from getting tons of spam. Regina in Nashville --------------------------------- Be a better Globetrotter. My direct ancestor Nancy Jane Hansbrow married Ellis/Elias Wigginton the s/o Nathaniel Wigginton by his second marriage to Mary McLain widow of Augustus Talley, I haven't traced this line much until today when I was going over my old notes and found one that said the person who had sent the info thought the first wife might have been either a Boykin or a Hansbrough--my direct paternal lines. So I've spent the day on ancestry prowling census, death, birth and yes even online trees trying to figure this out. I found no mention of the first wife other than ???. There obviously was one because of the children born before his marriage to Mary Talley (Nee McLain). So now it's your turn. Do any of you recognize this family and can you tell me anything about them, especially the children of the first marriage and of course the name of ??? And if you know something about the ancestry of Nancy Jane Hansbrow I'd be plum delighted! In 1806 John Reeves originally from Iredell Co in N C left Sumner Co. with his brothers and went to Lafayette Louisiana. In 1821 he deeded a home and land to an Edith Biggs at her marriage to a Dr Ogden Langstaff. Edith was the daughter of William Biggs and Jane Russ William Biggs was the son of Andrew Biggs and Charlotte Hamilton of Ireland. Jane Russ was the daughter of William Russ of South Carolina and Winefred West of North Carolina. I have been trying to find a connection with Reeves to Biggs in North Carolina. prior to 1800. Greetings! This is my first post and I hope someone out there can help me. I am researching a family of Stewarts from Sumner county that includes a John C. Stewart, born about 1831. He may have had brothers named Archibald and William. He traveled back and forth between Sumner county and Missouri during his life. He married Laura "Ollie" Seagraff in 1871 and had children that include Catherine, Harriet, Charles Shelby, John J, William P, Mary, Maggie, and Minnie. I am having trouble finding John C. Stewart's father and mother. His mother may have been named Catherine. I am also looking for Laura "Ollie" Seagraff's father's name and mother's maiden name. Her mother was named Milberry Seagraff. I would greatly appreciate any help you could give. Thanks!
