    3. Needing help on the RULE/RUHLE family of Sumner County after recently getting a copy of a Davidson County marriage bond of: Susannah RULE and Ferdinand RINEMAN/REINMAN (transcribed also as ZINEMAN on one section of the marriage bond) 16 Dec 1810 Bondsman: Henry RULE/Heinrich RUHLE Sumner County's Gen Web page has the transcript of a Henry RUYLE will that was recorded in 1790 that names a son Henry. Various deeds and marriage records in Sumner County also name RULE/RUYLE individuals. The Moses RULE family that was living in Sumner Co. had moved to Macoupin Co, IL sometime after 1829. The transcript of Moses' will dated 1849 does not name a Susannah but does name a son Henry. Susannah died abt. 1833 in Davidson County. Help greatly appreciated - Jeanne Johnson, Tarpon Springs, Florida

    1. [TNSUMNER] Make Family History Month Happen
    2. Jonelle Ellis Russell
    3. I copied this from "Ancestry Weekly Digest" to share with you. I think it is of interest to all genealogist. I hope you will take time to read George's article and become part of "making this happen." Jonelle Ellis Russell <ljrussell@earthlink.net> ___________________________________________________________________ "MAKE FAMILY HISTORY MONTH HAPPEN!" by George G. Morgan ("Along Those Lines . . .") Family History Month is not a "done deal" yet. Congress is off on its annual summer vacation and a recent search of the Thomas Web site reveals that no such resolution has yet been introduced. In order to declare October "Family History Month" beginning this year, the resolution must be introduced, passed, and signed. It is almost September and much work still needs to be done. George discusses how Family History Month can benefit you and your research, and what we can do to make it happen. He includes sample letter for readers to send in to legislators in Washington. <http://www.ancestry.com/library/view/columns/george/4468.asp> REPRINT POLICY: We encourage the circulation of the Ancestry Daily News via non- profit newsletters and lists providing that you credit the author, include any copyright information (Copyright © 1998-2001, MyFamily.com Inc. and its subsidiaries.), and cite the "Ancestry Daily News" (http://www.ancestry.com/dailynews) as the source, so that others can learn about our free newsletter as well.

    2. In a message dated 8/24/01 7:04:30 AM Eastern Daylight Time, TNSUMNER-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: << Does anyone have MINNIS in their family group? They were an Irish family, and could have been from Sumner or Blount County, migrating to Iowa and Missouri. Stella >> My ancestor, Levi Gant (1800-1886) married Margaret Minnis (b. c1798) in Orange County, North Carolina in 1818. They moved to Sumner County, Tennessee in the 1820s. Margaret (known as "Peggy") was a daughter of Revolutionary War soldier James Minnis, who died in Orange County, North Carolina in 1836. One of his grandsons, James M. Minnis, lived in Sumner County for a time after the Civil War, and participated with his cousins (mostly Hunters by this time) in founding Mount Vernon Methodist Church. James M. Minnis apparently moved on, but I don't know to where without checking notes. Erick Montgomery
