Hi Sumner Co. Researchers. I was contacted several months ago, about a project regarding Old Fountain Head Cemetery. A group of people have organized "Old Fountainhead Inc." They are compiling a book (money goes to the upkeep of the cemetery) which lists: "...all marked graves and data on the grave marker, a plat of the cemetery to assist in location of the graves." They are interested in information about the people buried in this cemetery. Good morning, Would any one who had family living in Sumner County in the late 1800's possibly have a photo of Dr. Robert Durham? He lived at Pleasant Grove near Westmoreland and was a country doctor. He was born in 1833 in Allen County and died in 1907 in Sumner County. He married Louisa Kinslow and continued to work and live in this community (Pleasant Grove) till he died. I feel there must be a picture of him floating around someplace since he was so important to the community. He was was a Mason and active in community life. Says in May of 1857 money was paid to John Hall for 104 acrea on Drake Creek. Malinda's parents I believe came form North Carolina as well. Let me know if you find anything out.
