This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: McIntosh, Browning, Benton, Murphy, Murphey, Haggard, Harris Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HiB.2ACI/2757 Message Board Post: Nancy Mruph(e)y was born 1760 NC. Har father may have been John Murph(e)y b. 1745 NC, died 1825 Sumner Co. TN. Have any Caswell researchers documented Nimrod McIntosh's wife Nancy Muph(e)y, her siblings or her mother? I am seeking information on John Murph(e)y's daughters, specifically any living descendants. The living descendant may be male or female, but their direct maternal line must only include females back to Nancy or one of Nancy and Nimrod's daughters, Phoebe, Celia, Milberry or Nancy. My mother happens to be a direct descendant form Nancy Murph(e) and her "unknown" mother. I would like to identify others who descend from the females above through a direct female line, including Parthenia's sisters for the purpose of proving Parthenia's maternal ancestry. If that can be done, I will be able to share information about Nancy's maternal ancestry, including geographic origin with confidence. Let me know if I can help you in any way. Terry, What Parkers and Jacksons are in this book? Thank you for offering your help! Darla Jackson Wilson

Friends, I'm hunting for a "Deed of Gift" associated with my 3g-grandfather William McCall who lived in Sumner County from about 1800 to the mid-1850s. Sometime before he left the County, he presumably gave title to his land holdings in other parts of TN and MO to his grown and married children. He and his 3rd wife then emigrated to Florida where he owned land as reward for his service in the War of 1812 and/or the Seminole Wars. Does any one have a clue as to where I would find this document? A copy of it was filed with an application to the Jamestowne Society (I have an inquiry into them as to access, copies of documents). Is there anyone on this list who would be willing to check the Sumner County Courthouse? The Archives site says they do not have deeds. I will, naturally reimburse all photocopy charges/postage, etc. and a reasonable research fee. I'm in Gainesville FL and very thoroughly employed, so I can't just take off and hunt it down myself. Many thanks, Mary
Does anyone by any chance have this lady in your databases...? Sarah Joanna VANCE b.c 1795-1800 in NC or TN... believed to have lived in Smith or Sumner Counties... NO idea of her parents or siblings... But may have a connection somehow to John F. VANCE or his kin ..???? Thanks Susan
