Our father was descended from John Mitchell and Frances Busby who married in Sumner Co. in 1808. So far we have had no matches with the other approximately 50 Mitchells who have tested. If you think you might be related to this family and are (or are related to) a male who carries the Mitchell name, let me know if you would like to join this project to test your theory.

If you or your cousins are male and carry the Minor/Miner last name--or should but don't due to past parental divorce or an adoption, I hope that you will participate in one of these studies. We personally believe this will be the only way we can figure out where our Minor/Miner ancestors came from, and how the various Minor/Miner family groups are interrelated. More information about the studies can be found at: http://www.geocities.com/minordnaproject/index.htm Please contact me Jim Carpenter by clicking on the email icon on each home page if you have questions about these studies.

Can anyone tell me if the State Line Missionary Baptist Church is still in operation? My great-grandparents, James and Elizabeth Lovelady are buried in the cemetery there. I sent a letter addressed to the church, requesting information regarding the Loveladys and the letter came back. I was told that my great-grandfather gave the church the land on which the church was built. Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated. Nita Lovelady Lawing Sahuarita, AZ

Scott, a North Carolinian who moved to Georgia and served in the Civil War. (Andrew is supposedly a son of Thomas and his first wife, Mary Jackson.) Thomas's second wife was Sarah Hilton (a sister of Andrew's first wife, Martha). Thomas and Sarah moved to Kentucky after the war, and all the children's names you listed I found to Thomas and Sarah. Would anyone have info pertaining to the two cemeteries located next to Skyline Hospital. I was once told the area was called "Taylor Hill." The cemetery closest to the hospital has one gravemarker that I could find (Margaret). The other cemetery I have not been able to figure out how to access. You can see several gravemarkers from Dickerson Rd. My husband had a ggggreataunt marry into the Taylor family and I'm wondering if she might have been buried there. I do not know her name but her parents names were William and Sally Ann Shaw. Her brother's were James Logan (born 1808) and Taylor. She also has a sister but name is unknown to me other than she married a Campbell and or Hull.
