The galaxy of distinguised men from Southwest Va. who have had an important part in the development of our country is notable. Due to the fact that this section has been somewhat isolated by the barrier of the Blue Ridge Mountains history has not done justice to many of those who have rendered valiant services to their country. This region west of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Tn.and Ky. borders has furnished a list of prominent men equal to any other area in the state. In this list will be found the names of 8 governors. It is without blemish and their work lives on.
