Dorton, 81, 409 Mat St., Kingsport, died at 9:30 AM Monday (Jan. 18, 1988) at Indain Path Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Scott County, VA., she had resided in Kingsport for the last 35 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude J. Dorton, in 1980. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Marie) Godsey, Kingsport, Mrs. Lawrence (Wanda) Carter, Clinchport, VA; three son's Otis Dorton, Benny Dorton, both of Kingsport and Kent Dorton, Interlocken, FLA.; 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three sisters Mrs. Bonnie Epps, Mrs, Ruth Wade, both of Kingsport, and Mrs. Dorothy Dezarn, Stuart, VA.; one brother Omer Flanary, Randleman, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home (downtown). Services will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Lester Smith officiating. Burial will be in Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA
