Adam Smith is listed in the 1850 census as an 18 year old resident in the houshold of Thomas Rockhold in Sullivan County, TN. I have some evidence that he is the son of James Smith and Margaret Greene, married 1802 in Greene County, TN. Adam married Nancy J. Trobaugh 1852 in Greene County, TN.
