Terry, I don't think you will find a census for 1940 for any county. About the 1840 census I would like to have information from anyone on the Sullivan Co. List who has any information census or land records or church records or anything on a William Sands Sr. and Jr. and their families fron Sullivan and surrounding counties. William Jr. moved there abt. 1820-1830 and his father William Sr. moved there to live with him in 1831 and died there in 1836. Any information about anyone connected would be greatly appreciated.
