I intend to visit Sullivan County to attempt to locate the parents of my g gf John Richardson. He came to Washington, Jefferson and finally Hawkins County. His son was Henry Ellis Richardson 1849 to 1923, Henry and his family moved to Bristol sometime in 1900's after becoming a very successful merchant and farmer in Hawkins County. Henry's living children were Wilbur Hale 1874-1898 (typhoid), William Augustus (Bully) Richardson 1886-1936. Will was an Annapolis graduate and football coach. Alfa Leona Richardson Sells. 1886-1962. My hope is that some place in Bristol or maybe Blountville someone may have written a family history. I have searched many years for John's parents. He was born 1819 near Hillsboro,NC. He married Elizabeth Ellis in 1846. They lived on a large farm in Church Hill. John died in 1909 and Elizabeth died 1899. I know all about the family of John and Elizabeth but have searched for John (1819) parents name for years. Do not know maiden name or given names of either. John (1819) mother b. NC father born MD per 1900 census but NC per 1880 census. Where would be a good place to look for individual family histories in Sullivan County?
