    3. Hello. Searching for information about the above-mentioned soldier, who enlisted in Co K of the Civil War regiment 4th Tennessee Cavalry on Sept 4, 1863. He was born in East Tennessee, either Sullivan Co. (which he states on his enlistment paper), or possibly Hawkins. In my attempts to locate him in the 1850 and 1860 census, I find contradictory evidence. In 1850 Sullivan Co census I find him on p 113B, in household #1461 MAHALY POE 39 F TN Lucinda 25F " Wm. 18 M " Laborer Perry 16 M " Laborer Joseph 13 M " Harrison 8 M " Willis 6 F " Catharine 5 F " Wesley 7 M " Mulatto George 2 M " Mulatto Then, in 1860 in Sullivan Co. I find a Perry on p 127, household #29 HENRY POE 58 M NC Farmer can't r/w Catharine 57 F VA Domestic can't r/w Perry W. 23 M TN Farm labor James H. CARTER 13 M VA Ancestry.com has a GEDCOM available for download, which states that a Perry Poe born in Hawkins Co. was the son of Henry and Amanda Poe. Any leads would be appreciated. Should I be concentrating my efforts by looking in Hawkins Co., rather than in Sullivan Co? Thanks Jessie Blalock http://users.rootsweb.com/~tn4cav/index.html
