Given the use of the name Lloyd in his eldest son's name, I'd say there is some connection to the family in Sullivan/Washington County, TN. But I don't know for sure. One thing you could check is this... Lloyd Ford had several sons who left Sullivan County, TN in mid 1800s for Monroe County, Kentucky. There was quite a contingency of Fords there related to those in Sullivan County. I have some family sheets for several of the Ford families but not this one and in fact the only Robert Ford that looks close to yours in the 1870 census was in Cumberland County, TN and a son of Albert Ford.
