Hi, I'm new to the Sullivan Co. List. I am looking for ALL ancestors and descendants of the family of William HILL, born about 1774 in North Carolina, who married Hescenia/Aseneth/Eseneth/Scenie/Sealeth SMALLWOOD, born about 1774 in North Carolina. This family was in Sullivan Co., Tennessee for the 1830, and 1840 Census, and several of the children are found in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 Census of Claiborne Co., Tennessee. William and Hescenia are living with the family of daughter Harriet HILL and husband Maurice "Morris" TRIBBELL (Tribble) in the 1850 Census of Claiborne Co., with William apparently dying before the 1860 Census. This family, as we know it at this time was: William HILL, born abt 1774 in North Carolina married Hescenia SMALLWOOD, born abt 1774 in North Carolina they lived in Henry Co., Virginia, then Sullivan Co., Tennessee, and finally Claiborne Co., Tennessee William and Hescenia had the following children (that we know of at this time): Green Berry HILL, born 1805, Henry Co., Virginia, married Lucy Ann CHRISTIAN Hardin HILL, born between 1810 and 1815, Sullivan Co., Tennessee, married Catherine TAYLOR James HILL, born 1810, Sullivan Co., Tennessee, married Elvira DALTON unknown son 1 (possibly Foster) HILL, born between 1816 and 1820, Sullivan Co., Tennessee unknown son 2 (possibly William) HILL, born between 1816 and 1820, Sullivan Co., Tennessee Harriet HILL, born 1824 (or 1813 ?), Sullivan Co., Tennessee, married Maurice TRIBBELL (Tribble) unknown daughter HILL, born between 1810 and 1815, Sullivan Co., Tennessee Hardin, James, and Harriet lived in Claiborne Co., Tennessee with their families. The William HILL listed as "blind" in the 1860 or 1870 Census of Claiborne Co., Tennessee MAY belong to this family. The Foster HILL who lived in Campbell Co., Tennessee MAY belong to this family.
