I am interested in anything that some one might know about the Samuel P. and Nancy Jane Barker Willis family who were living in Sullivan Co., TN 1880 and 1900 census. They were married in Washington Co., VA and living there in the 1870 census. 1880 Sullivan Co., TN census shows Samuel P 37, Nancy 31, children - Sarah 13, William 8 and Nannie 8/12 1884 Washington Co., VA deed - Samuel P. and wife, Nancy J. sold their part of John Willis land and were living in Sullivan Co., TN at the time. 1900 census shows Samuel P. 57, Nancy J., 53, Lula E. (Nannie?) daughter 20 Census for that year shows Samuel and Nancy had been married 34 years and that Nancy had 3 children and 3 were living. Samuel P. is the brother of my gg grandmother, Martha Willis who married William Wood of Washington Co., VA. Samuel and Martha Willis are the children of John and Nancy Willis of Washington Co., VA. I have not been able to find them anywhere after the 1900 census. Are there any cemetery records or county death records that someone might have for them?? Is there anybody researching the family?? Marguerette Powell
Could someone on this mailing list please post what records exist for Sullivan Co before 1800? Best of luck in your research. Bob
I'm trying to locate info on Herbert and Ada Hicks Henninger. They were in Bristol in 1917, because their son Paul H. Henninger was born there. They may have relocated to Pennsylvania sometime afterwards. Paul lived in York County PA until his death.
Thanks will no longer need this data.

The only thing I know about this Barbara that I am looking for is that she was born 7/28/1801 in Tennessee and died in Missouri on April 21, 1865. She married David Bachman and had 8 children by him before he died in 1849 in TN. No parents names are known but are REALLY desired. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Hello, I am new to this list. I am researching the Glover and Watson families. I have Edward H. Glover who married Mamie(LNU). Their son was Edward Carl Glover (d. 1965) who married Lillie Watson (1873-1965), daughter of John Wesley Watson and Mary Elizabeth Glover. Edward and Lillie had the following children--Edward Watson Glover, Carl Glover, Worley Farrel Glover, and Edna Glover Roseberry. Worley was principal at a school in Bluff City. I have some information on the Watson family, but really have nothing on the Glovers other that what I have above. I would really like to connect with someone who has some information to share. Thanks for your help. Joyce Bremer Glover Cookeville, TN

Faye, I did not find a THomas Newton is Sullivan County that matches your information. I did find a Sarah Newton, age 75. Would your Sarah be this old? Christine
Hello, Is there some kind soul out there with access to Sullivan Co. marriage records of 1867 ? I am in need of information on Samuel A. Perry m. Edith Dorton Nov. 1867. I will be truly appreciative of any help someone might provide. Dan Perry Inverness, FL
Thanks, P.J. I'll see what I can find on Worley.
Faye, Since Worley is a well known last name in the Piney Flats area, you might want to try checking for it as a possible maiden name for Sarah, wife of Thomas Newton. Just a thought, but it might be something worth investigating.
