    3. Source: "The Stewart-Houston Times" Newspaper, a bi-county newspaper for both Stewart County and Houston County in Tennessee. Date of Newspaper: Tuesday, April 11, 1950 Page: Front Page Article Title: "Census Count Gets Underway" Enumerators to take the 1950 decennial census of Stewart County have been announced by Leroy Cherry, Crew Leader; and are as follows: Miss Nancy Peacher, Mrs. Jewel Vaughan, Mrs. Eunice Coppedge, Mrs. Ann Clark, Mrs. Blanch King, Perry D. Atkins, William D. Howell, Harold L. Stone, Hershell Crockarell, Mrs. Clara Sykes, Kenneth Herndon, Bruce Whitford and Scott Hart. The work of taking the census of the county began Saturday, April 1, and will be completed by the end of the month, Cherry announced. (NOTE: I thought this was a pretty interesting article to post, especially since we all scower the census records for our ancestors. Even though the 1950 census won't be released for public view for many more years to come, seeing some of the people who took these census was interesting.)
