Some are free, but I noticed quite a few of them are for a fee. Do you think that is because the family paid to put the obituary in the paper, so the paper is charging for someone to get a copy? Wow, I've never had to pay for the ones we have copied...........what are you charging now for the full obits? Diann

    3. Dear Diann, Hello, I don't charge a dime for copies. I ask the person to send me a SASE and a IF they can a donation of any amount to help cover the cost of copies as I do not own a copier or scanner. The donation is never necessary to receive a copy of the obituary, but I am always grateful for the help. As a family research myself for many years, having an actual copy of an ancestors obituary whether it be from the 1800's or 2004 seems to add a little more credibility to my research. As we all know, when anything is transcribed there is much more room for error as can be seen in my own postings of obituary abstracts!! LOL! I know that obituaries are not error free in the first place, but it is amazing how the percentage rises when it is transcribed by us humans.
