Date of Newspaper: Tuesday, April 11, 1950 Page: Front Page Article Title: "Tippit Gets Bank Post" Herman Tippit took charge of his post as the new cashier of the Dover People's Bank and Trust Company, Saturday, April 1. W. L. McElroy, who has served as a bank cashier in Dover for the past forty years retired. Miss Amanda Walter, also retired as teller of the bank. Mr. Tippit came to the local banking post from the Farmers Bank and Trust Company in Indian Mound and expects to move his family to Dover after the close of school. Homer L. Chester, farmer of the Indian Mound community, has been elected cashier of the bank at Indian Mound to succeed Mr. Tippit, and he took charge of his new post April 1. The Times will go so far as to say that they are sure that both men will make good in their posts and welcomes Mr. Tippit and Mrs. Tippit and the family to become residents in Dover.
