    3. Brenda, I haven't looked for David Etheridge in any census. From the other things presented here, I suppose he could have been in the 1820 of Davidson Co. Those dates: I can't see any way of construing the guardian filings as saying anything other than that the Penina Etherige of the first filing, 1825, is the mother of the kids named. Then, Will Book B, page Page 237 says she is the widow of David T. Enough for me. But, how can she have a son b. not later than 1814, if Marcy was was her mother, married in 1803? Not a good fit! And if Nathan had a change of wives from Nancy Pratt TO Marcy after 1818 has no bearing (with the understanding that an 1803 marriage of Nathan was his first.) My question is, who was he married to, as much as 5 years earlier?? That is necessary to explain Penina's son, William T. Etherige. I haven't bothered my head over whose "widow Bruton" Nathan married. I figger that there are enough Bruton's and descendants to worry over that. You wanted suggestions on " more information about Jonathan Skinner." Jerree says the 1779 birth of Nathan was in Chowan Co., NC. If he was a brother, that County should be a starting place. And maybe Davidson, as a stopover place. On another line, a descendant of Alexander Joice just sent me : Father: Napoleon B. Joice b. 1794 NC Son Napoleon JR. b. 1830 Son Samuel Alexander b. 1831 Someone said here recently that Napoleon, Jr was b. 1839. This desc. doesn't think so. Just my thoughts, Chuck
