Robert, That has to be where he got that name!! Even though I have been doing genealogy research for many years, I have just this past month delved into the Civil War aspects of the ancestors I am researching. One funny thing I have found out is my husband and I have each had a 4th great-grandfather that fought at the battle of Fort Donelson (which is about an hour from my house) My ancestor was Oliver Coonrod who fought with the 58th Ohio Infantry with the Union and my husband's ancestor was Andrew Jackson Barker who fought with the 49th Tennessee Infantry with the Confederacy. Andrew Jackson Barker was wounded at the battle of Fort Donelson on February 15, 1862 and I just received papers yesterday that stated Oliver Coonrod was at Fort Donelson on February 15 & 16, 1862. I tease my husband that my ancestor probably shot his!!! Thanks again, In Christ, Melissa Barker ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Allen" <rtallen@charter.net> To: <TNSTEWAR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2004 12:12 PM Subject: Re: [TNSTEWAR] William Leslie Reynolds Obituary > Felix Zollicofer was a Civil War General from Tennessee. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "kaitysmom" <kaitysmom@peoplestel.net> > To: <TNSTEWAR-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2004 11:50 AM > Subject: Re: [TNSTEWAR] William Leslie Reynolds Obituary > > >> Rita, >> >> Thanks for the correction. That's a good question. If anyone has any additional information, I sure would be interested. My grandmother's Bible says Zollie's father's name is Jimmy Reynolds and mother Melissa. There is a James Reynolds with sister, Melissa on 1850 Stewart County census also with father James Reynolds, however, I have found nothing so far that tie the families together. Do you have any idea what Felix Zollicofer, Civil War General's, date of birth is and from what part of Tennessee he was from? Maybe he paid Melissa a visit one day????? I've found her in census: 1870 US Census Stewart Co. District 7, City of Dover P. Melissa and son, Wall Reynolds have disappeared from Stewart County by 1880. 1880 Stewart Co.
