Wallace, who is serving in the Pacific, was observed Sunday, October 22 at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Wallace of Route 3. Joining his parents in the observance were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wallace and son, Gary; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wallace and daughters, Nelda and Joyce; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Coats and sons, Darrell and Glenn; Mrs. W. M. Keel and sons, Eddie, Billy and Harold Wallace. Each family brought a basket lunch which was served from an attractively arranged table which had as its center piece a beautiful white birthday cake. A vase with a pink dahlia was placed at Sergeant Wallace's plate to represent his absence. His mother blew out the candles, making the wish "that he may be present at his next birthday".
