Date of Newspaper: Thursday, March 6, 1947 Page: Front Page Article Title: "Long Creek Home Destroyed by Fire March 1" The home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hicks, on Long Creek was completely destroyed by fire Saturday night around 6:30. The fire was started when a kitchen lamp chimney broke catching the curtains on fire. The adjoining neighbors immediately ran to the scene but too late to save any of the house or household things.
