Samuel Asa Morris was the father of Sam Morris the school teacher that was killed. I now live in Iowa as my husband is from here. Thanks to all, Pamela Morris Siemsen

Pamela, you write that Martin was your great , great grandfather. I think that his wife was Narcissa Rose Cherry, 12 Dec 1849 - 24 Oct 1906. Do you know who her parents were? I have them listed as Henry E. Cherry 1814 – 1889 and Martha J. Whitehead 1809 – 1882. I believe that a second wife of Martin was Missouri Frances Morgan 1876 – 1936. This is part of my Morgan line, although not my direct ancestor. David Morgan

    3. Pam, What I have in my notes for Samuel Morris the school teacher is this "Sam was killed at age 33. He was a school teacher. He taught a child from the Outlaw family and one day gave the boy a "thrashing". The boy's father, Ed Outlaw, was very angry and made threats against Sam. Sam said that he was not afraid of anyone. One day when Sam was shopping Mr. Ed Outlaw walked by and fatally shot Sam while he was in the store." This story was told to me by Delwin Harris, husband of Dorothy Morris Harris on April 2, 1991. Deanna O.
