When I was in grade school I had a geography book that showed how the United States boundaries changed as time went by. It had clear plastic sheets that laid over the original map. If no boundaries were not changed in that area the plastic was left clear so the old map could be seen through the plastic. If some areas, the boundaries were changed, they colored in and reworded where needed on the plastic. It might take several plastic sheets to show all our changes over the years. I hope you know what I'm talking about because I'm sure doing a bad job trying to describe it. It would sure be nice if we had a map like that for Tennessee or just in our little Tennessee area. Do we have a map like that? I sure would like to have one! Is there someone that could make a map like that? Hint! Hint! That would be a money maker for the society. And all the boundary changes would be right there at every ones fingertips. Am I crazy or what? Doris
It is an excellent idea, Doris. It could be done. Really needs to be done by someone with an engineering degree rather than just art degree. Is there someone on this list like that? Someone who has done maps? It could be run off of a computer on plastic overlays...but truly needs someone who knows what they are doing to make the map really valid.
