Hi Doris, My Knight line descends from John Knight who m. Nancy Francis. A few years ago we joined the Knight DNA Project at World Families and just finally got a match to the line of Night Knight, Revolutionary War soldier from SC who lived in Christian Co, Ky before moving to Brown Co, Il. There was a Richard Knight who m. Elizabeth Francis, sister of Nancy Francis. This has made me wonder if my John Knight was brother to that Richard Knight. Richard Knight was living with the Francis family in Trigg Co, right next door to the Richard "Night" family (Richard Night was old enough to be Richard's father). Are either of these the Richard Knight to whom you are related? A descendant of Richard Knight who m. Elizabeth Knight believes the younger Richard was a son of Grant Knight, son of James Knight, Revolutionary War soldier from SC. I don't know if this James Knight was related to Night Knight. We have a DNA project member who believes their line descends from Aquilla Knight. My line is not a match for that line. We also have a descendant of Wade Hampton Knight whose line lived in Christian Co, Humphreys Co, and Houston Co represented in the project. We are looking for descendants of Absalom Knight's line, Aquilla Knight's line, and Richard Knight's line to participate as well as any other Knight lines from the region. If anyone knows of a Knight descendant from the area who might be willing to participate, please let me know or check out the Knight DNA Project at WorldFamilies.net. Also, a couple of researchers are trying to trace their lines back to Aquilla Knight. They are descended from Celdon E. Knight and Barrie Knight, both thought to be descendants of Aquilla Knight. I should probably make this a separate post but, technically, I can get away with it since you mentioned Aquilla Knight in your original post ;) Any documented descendants of these out there who are willing to participate?? Richard Sr. is in the right age range. Another stretch would be to connect Aquilla Knight as the son to the older Knight that was found in Montgomery county. As you can see. I need help!
