    1. [TNSTEWAR] Web Site Update - expanded Deed Index

    3. I'm starting to update the Deed Book Index that's on the Stewart Co. Genealogy web site. In addition to listing what's in the official index (names of Grantor and Grantee, type of transaction, Book and Page Number), I've been reading the deed books and extracting: - Number of acres in the deed - Description of the land/property being sold - Year the transaction took place (not the year it was registered with the county) and adding them to the online index. So far, I've updated the index for the first 7-8 deed books (deeds that were registered with the county up to 1828). I hope this additional information helps the Stewart Co. researcher who's looking for more detail about these deeds but doesn't have access to the deed books themselves. Jim
