My great great grandfather was Samuel Ezell, born about 1810, listed in the 1860 Federal Census. He married Ann/Anna Shelton, born abt. 1812, both Samuel and Anna possibly born in Tennessee. They had 8 children: Pleasant, Elifus, Calvin, George W., Elmira J., William D., and James. They moved to Sumter Co., Al. sometime before the Civil War. Pleasant, Elifus, Calvin, and George W. all served with the 40th Alabama together. And all saw action during the War. I think it was Elifus who was shot. Does anyone have any info on this family. Correct birth dates? Father and mother of Samuel Ezell, or any siblings? Does anyone have any pictures of these people that I could get a copy? James was in Montgomery County, then Stewart County from about the late 1790's until abt. 1816 when he moved to Old Springhill, AL. to serve in the 2nd Legislative Session of Alabama.
