    1. Fw: Fw: [TNSTEWAR] Grace (Durham) Brown Obituary
    2. GEH
    3. Hello Phyllis, thanks for emailing. My Hannah DURHAM married Ira Franklin BELISLE in 1871 Missouri. Ira descended from Littleberry BELISLE, an early settler in Stewart Co, TN. Ira's father was Ira BELISLE Sr, who married Lucinda SMITH 1835 TN (my records say they married in either Bolivar or Hardeman Co). Littleberry, the patriarch, married Milly BELL sometime around 1815 in NC. Both her and Littleberry were born in NC around 1790. It could be that the DURHAMs, the BELISLEs AND the BELLs all moved from NC to TN around the same time (by 1827). I know I have seen tax records for Littleberry BELISLE in Stewart Co, TN as early as 1827. Do you have any records of the siblings of your John DURHAM? Perhaps one of them moved away from TN to MO before 1855? Thanks, Ginger ----- Original Message ----- From: <Hoodslanding@aol.com> To: <TNSTEWAR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 29, 2004 12:42 PM Subject: Re: Fw: [TNSTEWAR] Grace (Durham) Brown Obituary > Ginger, My Durham ancestors were from Stewart Co but I dont see any names > that ring a bell. 3. Hello, if anyone is related to the DURHAM family below (or any others), I would be interested in knowing their ancestry. My gg grandmother was Hannah Elizabeth DURHAM, born 1855 in Missouri. I do not know for sure who her parents were. She died in 1919 around Texarkana, AR. 3. I have always assumed this to be Maria's family in the 1850 census, prior to her 1856 marriage: 1850 Stewart County census, p. 488 William CHERRY 40 m w farmer 600 Unknown Disy 40 f w Unknown Maria 19 f w Tenn William 17 m w Tenn SCH Adaline 13 f w Tenn SCH George 11 m w Tenn Irwin 8 m w Tenn Henderson 5 m w Tenn Milam 25 m w Tenn Seems likely, especially when you consider that Maria named her first son Irwin Ross (after her brother Irwin Cherry?), and named one of her daughters Sarah Adaline Ross. If these are Maria's parents, then she was the daughter of William H. Cherry (c. 1810 to bef. 1865) and Daisy ____ (c. 1809), and therefore the granddaughter of William W. Cherry (1771/1849) and Lydia Minerva (Mc)Daniel (1778/1856) of Martin County, NC and Stewart County. -----Original Message----- From: Rita Wall [mailto:wallycrib@comcast.net] Sent: Saturday, August 28, 2004 5:35 PM To: TNSTEWAR-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TNSTEWAR] George Ross/Maria Cherry Dear Listers, Does anyone know who the parents are for Maria Cherry and her dates of birth and death? 1. Re: [TNSTEWAR] Agnes Ann (Mathis) Barnes Obituary
    2. Hi Melissa No, it should not be Toby. Tode was just a nickname. That is what his granddaughter told me. His real name was William Edward according to her. Tode was brother of my gg-grandfather. It is interesting that Amelia's nickname was not used. It was Mealie.
